수업 #2 (the second class)

안녕하세요 여러분

Hi all,

Here are three main points we learned yesterday.
1. What do you like about Korea? 한국, 뭐가 좋아요?
한국어 (vs. 영어)
한국사람 (vs. 미국사람)
한국음악- 가수
한국드라마- 탈렌트, 남자탈렌트, 여자탈렌트
한국영화- (영화) 배우(movie star), 남자 배우, 여자 배우
한국음식
한국문화
2. This is ____.
This is an apple.
(이건) 사과예요.
This is not an apple.
(이건) 사과(가) 아니예요.
*Korean speakers often omit the words in the parenthesis depending on the context.
-예요/이에요, -아니예요(not)
The last consonant of a syllable is called 받침. When a word doesn’t end with 받침, you say -예요. (e.g. 바나나예요) and when a word does end with 받침, you say -이에요. (e.g. 수박이에요)
Remember 받침있어요? 없어요?
You will learn how this 받침 related rule applies to other phrases/sentences throughout the course. So keep that in mind 🙂 받침 있어요? 없어요?
3. Location nouns (위, 옆, 앞, 뒤, 밑/아래, 안)
Korean doesn’t have preposition but location nouns acting like postposition. So you put this location noun right after a noun and add a particle 에(indicating location).
For example,
on the chair : 의자(noun)+위(location noun)+에(location particle)- 의자 위에
in the cup: 컵+안+에- 컵 안에 (커바네)
next to the book: 책+옆+에 (채겹페)
So,
A: Where  is the pencil?
     어디에 있어요 연필이

-> 연필이 어디에 있어요?
B: The pencil is next to the chair.
연필은 있어요    옆에            의자-> 연필은 의자 옆에 있어요.
Finally, we have homework. 마지막으로 숙제가 있어요.
Work book p. 50-51 하고(and) p. 54-56 이 숙제예요. p. 52-53 하고 p. 57은 optional. If you have time and feel comfortable after finishing 숙제, you can do optional one.
Please see the attached for the new words from last class. And if you have any question-질문 있어요, please email me. Hope you have a great weekend! 좋은 주말 보내세요!선주 선생님
